Dear Educator,

The heart of ISI Books' mission is education. We are deeply committed to the view that education is an end to be valued for its own sake. The goal of education at any level is, as John Henry Newman believed, "enlargement of mind" or "illumination." As such, our titles represent a more general commitment to broad and liberal learning. You will find few overly-specialized titles. Instead, an array of books in the tradition of humanistic learning — interdisciplinary and devoid of jargon and can't — await the reader of ISI Books. Such books easily lend themselves to classroom adoption; indeed, some have been commissioned with the college or advanced high school student in mind — particularly our special series of Guides to the Major Disciplines and our Library of Modern Thinkers.

If one of our titles interests you and seems suitable for adoption in your classroom, we will be happy to send you a free examination copy. Simply fax (302-652-1760) or mail your request on official school stationery. Be sure to join our mailing list for future announcements and special offers. You may also be interested in perusing our sister site, www.isi.org. Should you have any questions, email us at specialord@isi.org.

As this site develops, we will be exploring more interactive ways to benefit students, professors, and anyone interested in continuing his education through the "great conversation" of perennial ideas and authors. Thanks for including ISI Books in this important, and ongoing, conversation.

Sincerely,

Editor in Chief
