The faculty relationship with ISI forms an invaluable partnership. ISI looks to its faculty to assist in educating students in first principles and introducing them to the resources of the Institute. In turn, ISI offers faculty development seminars, free publications for classroom use, and support for on-campus lectures and reading groups.
Already you have taken advantage of one of ISI's most valuable resources, the Institute's website. Here you can find information on many publications and programs that benefit you and your students. In addition, several key online features, including the Olin Online Lecture Library, the Online Education in Liberty, and the ISI Journal Archive can be used directly to supplement your course materials.
ISI relies on its faculty members to identify top-notch candidates for the Honors Program and Fellowships Program. Faculty may also be invited to mentor students in a chosen academic discipline.
Regular faculty development seminars and publishing opportunities assist active faculty in staying current in their academic field or exploring new topics. To revitalize the teaching of America's heritage, for instance, the Lehrman Summer Institutes help faculty design intellectually serious and philosophically engaging courses that deal with the foundational principles of the American Republic and the broader traditions of the West.
If you are not already a member, you are invited to join our faculty ranks. If you are a current member, consider becoming a Faculty Associate or starting an ISI Group.
