"Capitalism and Freedom: Milton Friedman and the Economics of Liberty"
"The only system that has ever been discovered to have a lot of people cooperate together voluntarily is through the free market. And that's why it's so essential to preserving individual freedom...History suggests that capitalism is a necessary condition for political freedom."

In Milton Friedman's seminal work, Capitalism and Freedom, he presents his view of the proper role of competitive capitalism—the organization of economic activity through private enterprise operating in a free market—as both a device for achieving economic freedom and a necessary condition for political freedom.
The ISI will convene a one-day conference to reflect on Friedman's insight into the relationship between individual liberty and free society. Participants will also be led to consider the cultural, spiritual, and political impact of government intervention and the enduring relevance of private property.
