2007 WINNERS OF THE GEORGE WASHINGTON ESSAY CONTEST

The Intercollegiate Studies Institute recently announced those essayists who were chosen as winners of its 2007 George Washington Essay Contest.

First Place ($1,000 scholarship)
Audrey Ryan, Wilmington, DE

Third Place ($250 scholarship)
Chris Brearly, Kennett Square, PA

Students were asked to consider those elements of Washington’s presidency that established important precedents and procedures for the office of Commander in Chief and how those components have changed over the years for good or ill.
