Together with ISI’s student Campus Representatives, Faculty Associates act as ISI’s presence on campus. They are among our nation's most dedicated scholars and they assist ISI in informing their colleagues and students about our educational programs. They also serve as a source of guidance for students on their campus.

ISI Faculty Associates have the opportunity to:

  • Host lectures on campus with assistance from ISI.
  • Arrange reading and discussion groups, often with free materials provided by ISI.
  • Provide information about ISI to students and colleagues, including The Intercollegiate Review, ISI’s membership brochures, ISI’s Student Guides to the Major Disciplines, and information about ISI’s graduate and undergraduate fellowships.
  • Sign up new ISI members, acting as ISI’s representative in reaching out to the next generation of ISI students.
  • Identify students and faculty who might also be interested in being Campus Representatives or Faculty Associates.
  • Develop ideas for local lectures, seminars, and debates, utilizing faculty and experts from their own and nearby campuses.

Faculty Associates receive frequent mailings to keep them abreast of ISI's activities and are encouraged to keep in regular contact with ISI. For their efforts on campus, they receive complimentary books, invitations to regional and national conferences, and are invited to join ISI's national lecture bureau.

ISI is very receptive to proposals for seminars and symposia, and will provide organization, mailing, and funding to assist Faculty Associates in realizing their ideas for such events.

To become a Faculty Associate, contact the Director for Membership and Campus Leadership at (800) 526-7022, email members@isi.org, or print, complete, and return the online form.
